WEVO Semi-Solid Transmission Mounts |
Using their proven architecture in Semi Solid (SS) mounts, WEVO has developed the Boxster SS Transmission mount as a simple and easy bolt-in replacement for the original hydroelastic parts. This product reuses the existing triangular mounting cranes on the side of your transmission. Technical Note: The M12 bolt through the Engine or Transmission mount should be tightened to 40 ft/lbs or 55 Nm. The M12 Schnorr (serrated) washer should be installed directly under the head of the M12 bolt. The M8 hardware should be tightened to 18 ft/lbs or 25 Nm using the original arrangement of washer and nut. |

993 Mounts |
If you are swapping a 996 engine into a Boxster, you'll need to lower the whole engine and transmission assembly down slightly for the intake manifold to fit. We initially fit 993 engine mounts in place of the stock Boxster transmission mounts to achieve this. However, we experienced resonance coupling issues at 2-3000RPM. This manifests in the form of some noise from the rear of the car while accelerating or decelerating. Further experimentation showed that the best option is to use the WEVO Semi-Solid Transmission Mounts. |
